Today I had the best morning that I have had in a very long time. The last two weeks at work have been very difficult. I manage staff and while you always have some really good people, there are always some that don’t really meet expectations and when they are unionized, to a certain degree your hands are tied. Some days it has been like herding cats. So, I was to the point where it was take a day off or loose my mind so I took today off. At first I just thought I would stay at home away from people to get a break but then I realized that I had a Chapters bonus card for $10.00 that would expire this weekend so I decided I would head to the bookstore this morning. It was so great — the store is stuffed with books for the Christmas season, it was nice and quiet and I got some good books and picked up my first Christmas present. It was just what I needed. The only way I can explain it is that I felt like the experience soothed my soul. There is nothing I love more than wandering a bookstore.
So I am planning on doing a book haul video tomorrow and another blog talking about the books I have gotten in the last couple of weeks. For this weekend, I am continuing to read The Girl in the Spider’s Web and if I finish that, I am going to start The Bourbon Kings by J.R. Ward. Speaking of which, it is time for me to get off the computer and go do some reading!
