Book Review – White Lies by Lucy Dawson

Alexandra Inglis is a family doctor in England who has a drunken one-night stand in Ibiza as retaliation against her husband who has confessed to a one-night stand with a co-worker several weeks earlier.  The problem is that Alex’s affair turns out to be her patient and is 17 years old.

As this book progresses, we hear the story from several different viewpoints, namely, Alex’s husband, her boss and Jonathan, the 17 year old lover along with Jonathan’s girlfriend.  Alex claims that she didn’t realize that Jonathan was her patient as she had only seen him once at her clinic and she was drunk the night they slept together.  Jonathan claims that he has been secretly having an affair with Alex for months.  Who is telling the truth???

I ended up enjoying this book a lot more than I thought that I would.  Half-way through the book I thought that I had it figured out but I was wrong and I am glad that I was because I did not see the ending coming.

This was a solid 3 star read for me.White Lies
