Book Review – Confessions on the 7:45 by Lisa Unger

Selena Murphy is commuting home one evening on the train when there is a problem on the tracks and the train stops until the matter can be resolved. A woman who is sitting beside Selena strikes up a conversation and offers her an airline sized bottle of liquor and together they have a couple of drinks and talk while they wait on the stalled train. For some reason Selena is drawn to Martha and they both make confessions to each other that in hindsight may have been foolish. When Selena finally exits at her train stop she believes that she will never see Martha again and she has bigger problems on her mind as she goes home to confront her husband who she has just discovered has been shagging the nanny. A few days later, the nanny goes missing and questions start getting asked. On top of that, somehow Martha has gotten ahold of Selena’s cell phone number and starts sending enigmatic texts making Selena question what does Martha really want from her.

Good suspense thriller with a few twists. Thank you to Edelweiss for an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review.
